PDF web services for developers
You, as developer, can take advantage of the possibility to create and convert PDF documents in your own applications. webPDF offers you a number of web services, which you can use in a wide variety of ways.
You can use the web services...
- ...in programming languages, such as e. g. Java, C, C++, C#, .NET and Delpi.
- ...in business solutions, such as e. g. SAP or IBM Domino.
- ...in content management systems (CMS).
- ...in shop systems.
The web services of webPDF provide a SDK (Software Development Kit), which allows you to influence the creation and conversion of PDF documents via an extensive parameter control.
How to use the web services is described in the PDF documentation
of webPDF.
Integrate the web services via the WSDL (Web Services Description Language) and control them via the network protocols HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol).
The data exchange using the web services takes place via XML messages (Extensible Markup Language). The web services of webPDF are implemented as JAX-WS (Java API for XML - Web Services). The binary data of the web services are transferred as SOAP MTOM (Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism).
The webPDF server is implemented as a J2EE application, which runs on an "embedded" Apache Tomcat server. Requirement for using the web service is the installation of the JRE 6 or the JDK 6 on the server, as well as a platform as e. g. Windows (XP, 2003, Vista, 7 oder 2008) or Linux (x86). webPDF can be run in 32bit or 64bit environments. There is a native 64bit version available for Linux.
